| this is a no-bullshit mix of some quality tracks. i know when i
look at mixes to pick up you have to look first at the tracks
selected, then the skill it takes to put them together successfully.
and graffiti delivers the goods, beat-matching to the enth degree
perfectly, and knowing exactly what to drop and when. the highlights
here include j5's 'what's golden', dabrye' s 'won', (with a bit of
eminem talking over it), into some krs parker's 'the real hiphop is
over here', to blackalicious, to lif, defari, talib kweli, slum
village, jazzy jeff, j-live, royce, obie trice, an original graffiti
piece with mc lyte and tons more! for real!
while i would prefer a bit more scratch routines and tricks,
that's not what this mix is. it's a showcase of great tracks mixed
up and put together nicely, as they should be. there are a bunch of
exclusive tracks featured here as well.
this has certainly been a great year for mixes, with playgroup,
soulwax, and gilles peterson all representing, but with bling free,
we get another taste of pure hip-hop with no bullshit. it's clear
that it's from the heart, and the quality shines through. 34 tracks
in total, and let me know if anyone gets volume 1, i want to hear
it.
